As of October 4, 2023, Safaricom has suspended its roaming services in the United States. This decision was made due to "unforeseen circumstances" and affects both PrePay and PostPay customers. Safaricom is working on restoring roaming services in the USA as soon as possible, but they have not yet provided a timeline for when this will happen. In the meantime, Safaricom customers traveling to the USA will need to purchase local SIM cards to stay connected.
