Rough Draft Minutes KICTANET planning meeting May 2005
Dear KICTANET members, Find attached rough (ignore typo's etc) notes taken during the monthly planning meeting that took place on May 4, 2005 at the jacaranda hotel. Please note that there was a concern raised regarding the chronic absence of some members of the network during the planning meetings and I would wish to take this opportunity to encourage network members to at least attend or send their proxy to attend these monthly planning meetings, which are used for brainstorming and strategic planning. Also kindly note urgent action points: 1. Awareness creation campaign parliamentary group that is being coordinated by KIF, Charles could you kindly send an update to the list. 2. Fundraising activities, members responsible, Florence, Brian, Willie, Alice, and PS ministry information and communication. I shall share the draft proposal with you all shortly thanks, if there are any comments/clarifications please let me know kind regards A. Hi all, With respect to absences, perhaps we need a set of simple rules so it is clear what the expectations are? And perhaps a list of members is in order? Cheers, FE alice@apc.org wrote: Dear KICTANET members, Find attached rough (ignore typo's etc) notes taken during the monthly planning meeting that took place on May 4, 2005 at the jacaranda hotel. Thanks Florence. Perhaps it is time that KICTANET members drafted a few rules of engagement. We have been operating as a loose network. What do others think? alice ----- Original Message ----- From: "Florence Akin Aina" <feanywhere@yahoo.co.uk> To: "Kenya ICT Policy - kictanet" <kictanet@kictanet.or.ke> Sent: Monday, May 16, 2005 7:07 PM Subject: Re: [Kictanet] Rough Draft Minutes KICTANET planning meeting May 2005

Alice I wish to contribute to item no 1. In mid April I was invited by MPs to work with them to develop a strategic plan on ICTs. This was a very successful event and I took the time to create a link between the efforts by stakeholders including the executive to enable the country eventually produce a legislature mandated Sessional paper on ICTs. I would like to work with Charles to maintain the momentum Cheers Muriuki Mureithi --------------------------------------- Summit Strategies Ltd Taranaki Court - Chania Avenue Kilimani Nairobi Kenya Mail P O Box 62454 City Square 00200 Tel +254 20 575824 Cell + 254 722 520090 email: mureithi@summitstrategies.co.ke -----Original Message----- From: kictanet-bounces@kictanet.or.ke [mailto:kictanet-bounces@kictanet.or.ke] On Behalf Of alice@apc.org Sent: 16 May 2005 12:40 To: Kenya ICT Policy - kictanet Cc: wcurrie@apc.org Subject: [Kictanet] Rough Draft Minutes KICTANET planning meeting May 2005 Dear KICTANET members, Find attached rough (ignore typo's etc) notes taken during the monthly planning meeting that took place on May 4, 2005 at the jacaranda hotel.
