Senators seek web deletion of Makenzi's cult teachings

Hello lister, Is anyone aware what law/power the senate committee is using to order this? Senators seek web deletion of Makenzi's cult teachings - The Standard https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/national/article/2001473420/senators-seek-we... -- Warmly, Sidney *Twitter:* @princelySid <https://twitter.com/princelySid>* |* *Github:* princelySid <https://github.com/princelySid> | *Web: *sidneyochieng.co.ke

unfortunately the internet never forgets and the transnational nature of the internet would make it difficult to enforces as the content may not be hosted by a Kenyan organization Regards, On Mon, May 22, 2023 at 11:46 AM Sidney Ochieng via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

If YT pulls down a video, I believe that's the end of it - unless someone else downloaded a copy and hosted it elsewhere, which can also be easily dealt with. Govt has long arms, remember? On Mon, May 22, 2023 at 1:13 PM Alex Watila via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

This brings the billionaire dollar questions to play... 1. Freedom of expression, where does it start and where does it stop? 2. Freedom to worship. Where this "freedom" brings about adverse effects as the Mackenzie debacle; does the government have a right to put a stop to it? If this comes to play, won't people in government get into the tendency to abuse this power? 3. BigTech power to delete content, suspend user... How can this be coordinated without having a "big brother is watching syndrome" imposed on net users?
