If as a president you cannot buy Kenya and promote the local brand, who will? We need to emulate the pride of Deutsches, who have the second biggest TLD in the world .de, rivalled only by .com. Surprisingly one of these presidential candidates spent a considerable amount of time in Deutscheland yet he has not borrowed those ideals and replicated them in Kenya. teamuhuru.co.ke is the only candidate who scores 100% on this metric. You will find that other than Martha Karua's site, .co.ke domains exist for the other sites, though it isn't clear if it is domain squatting (the Raila one is clear domain squatting). When choosing a domain name, it's often prudent to buy alternative spellings and also common misspellings. Good examples are gogle.com and facbook.com. While it would definitely be great to see them use .co.ke domains it is good to take into account the 'netsavyness' of their advisors and cost decisions made by the vendors who provide the websites, strategy etc. At the end of the day, none of these candidates are digital natives and probably one tld is to them as good as another. Using a .ke or a .co.ke is a choice that should not be treated trivially. The .com suffix was meant to indicate that the site is a commercial site wasn't it? The cost of buying a .co.ke domain is trivial in the grand scheme of things what with the billions spent in campaigns. This just goes to show the advisors figure a website is a website and nothing more. if a .biz domain happened to be cheaper they would probably have bought and used it.
