Hi Listers I saw someone complaining about sim swap fraud online. Other than users being advised to call Safaricom customer service, would anyone know what the Communications Authority is doing about this? Also, has anyone ever tried to do a Mpesa paybill reversal successfully. Seems like the reversal service does not work for payments made to businesses and well, tunaomba Serikali. Victor
Victor, Safaricom introduced a new extra security feature that alerts you via SMS (707) whenever someone tries to register a line using your National ID. This I think was a great initiative. And on your question on M-pesa paybill, according to its FAQs, "Safaricom is not authorized to carry out LIPA NA M-PESA reversals unless they receive official communication from the merchant." Or one can call 234 if sent to the wrong sender. *Kind Regards,* *David Indeje * +254 (0) 711 385 945 | +254 (0) 734 024 856 Website: Khusoko <https://khusoko.com/> <https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-indeje/> <https://twitter.com/David_Indeje> On Fri, 10 Jul 2020 at 17:06, Victor Kapiyo via kictanet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

If the reversal is initiated by the receiving merchants, it works smoothly. But the customer cannot reverse for obvious reasons. ______________________ Mwendwa Kivuva, Nairobi, Kenya https://www.linkedin.com/in/mwendwa-kivuva
