Flavia Main purpose of the job APC is looking for a person to join its communications team as content curator and writer for APC-managed platforms and projects, with a focus on capacity-building materials. This position will require you to edit and produce written outputs, and to find, organise and, when necessary, re-adapt the materials in several online spaces, like toolkit.ngo. This position also requires experience in NGO institutional strengthening, strategic ICT uses and training, and a good understanding of NGO needs. Location: The successful applicant may work from anywhere in the world provided they have reliable internet access. APC provides an equipment allowance but requires staff to have and use their own computers. Remuneration and duration of contract: This is a 1.0 full-time equivalent contract for an initial 12-month period (renewable depending on performance and availability of funding). Remuneration is based on APC’s salary scale for a position at the project coordinator level. Details about the remuneration package will be discussed with shortlisted candidates. Additional details on the project are below. Start date: The successful applicant should be available to begin as soon as possible, but ideally, no later than mid-April 2018. Reporting: This position requires you to work closely with the APC communications manager and the relevant staff from APC’s different programmes and projects. Primary responsibilities * Information management, which implies finding, annotating, evaluating, organising, updating, re-adapting, and making available diverse materials in different online spaces. * Curating the site toolkit.ngo. * Producing written outputs as agreed with the team. * Editing and proofreading English content on demand. Desired skills and experience The ideal candidate: * Wants to work in a non-profit organisation that works for social justice, has experience in NGO institutional strengthening, strategic ICT uses and training, and understands NGO needs. * Has very strong information management skills and at least five years of experience. * Is really interested in NGO capacity building and feels excited to go through loads of training materials in order to find, annotate, evaluate, organise, update, and make them available in different online spaces. * Has excellent English language skills (native), and is very good at editing and proofreading English written content. * Is very methodical, detail oriented and organised. * Loves to write and has strong experience in developing training materials. * Has an outstanding ability to find useful sources of information that are relevant to the assignment purposes, with great editorial judgement. * Has experience publishing professionally in online platforms using Content Management Systems such as Drupal and Wordpress, and has a comprehensive understanding of online publishing. * Is a collaborative team player and feels comfortable working with people located in different parts of the world.
