Multi IP setup : are new network interfaces required ?

Hello, I have been running exim4u with a single domain for a few months. Now I am activating the multi IP setup before migrating my 3 domains from Vexim to Exim4u, here are my questions : Do I need to configure new network interface for each additionnal IP on my host ? If so, what are the servers (horde ? imap ? exim ?) that must or may take advantage of the additionnal IP by listening on a new interface associated to the IP ? -- Thomas

log parsing question

Hi Everyone! My question is, how can I get a list of every incoming mail (with from address at least and date) to a spcific recipient? I mean really every incoming mail, even the ones that are marked spam or RBLed. exim_main.log does not contain the recipient for every incoming message, altough I can find it in exim_reject.log, but that is not really parseable with exigrep. I think this is something that would be inportant for many people, because when a client sais he/she did not receive a mail, then the only solution is to show that they receive many other mails (including spams and denied messages). Hi List, i user to do sender black listing on my old exim configuration, but with my new setup(exim4u) this statement those not seems to work. i place it before: deny !verify = sender statement # exim: Sender Address Blacklist deny senders = /etc/exim/blacklist_Emails message = Blacklisted log_message = Sender Is Banned by Address Blacklisting The blacklist_Emails file contain statments like *(a)bad_domain.tld Please i need help on this Thanks Kebba

Hi! Thanks for helping. The question was related to virtual user's who have maildir homes of course. I was able to solve the problem a few moments ago, .forward works as needed (only if it exists). And also the maildrop problem is solved, since .forward can use SIEVE filtering when written "#Sieve filter" in the first line. So everything seems to be going great! Thanks for everything! Hi Guys! I am trying to make maildrop work with exim4u, but I don't have much idea how to make it work. The aim is: - if the user has a .mailfilter file in its $HOME, then pipe the message to maildrop with the specific .mailfilter file of the user Exim4u has a bultin piping solution in the web interface also, maybe this can be achieved through that? How do I have to use that? If I don't want to achieve this through the web interface, and I want to make it a default behaviour if the . mailfilter file exists, what are the steps to do? Hi list, my mail server has been listed at backscatterer.org, and on their site they suggested that i should only send bounces to local users but i dont know how to implement this in exim. recently i found out that some of the ip's i allow relay for are infect and send a lot of mails with fake sender addresses, is their a way in exim that i can allow only senders with local + "accepted" domains to relay mails from my mail server. eg: that i allow a user(a)my-domains.tld from <1.2.3.4> to relay through my server but user(a)strange-domains.tld from <1.2.3.4> not relay or send any mails. this will really help me as now what i normally do is block the smtp for the specific ip sending those spams which affect any legitimate emails. I really need help on this two problems. here is an example from the backscattere website. Backscatterer - Why it is abusive and how to stop your system doing so Email servers should be configured to provide Non-Delivery Reports (bounces) to local users only. Unacceptable email from anywhere else should be rejected. Thanks Kebba

Hi Gordon, I did as you advice and found out that i have a lot of spamd children about 25 of them all taking up to 2.2 % of my memory. i was having this on my spamassassin options: under /etc/defaults/spamassassin " OPTIONS="--create-prefs --max-children=15 --max-conn-per-child=25 --helper-home-dir -D --round-robin -x -H -u Debian-exim --virtual-config-dir=/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf" i reduce the values from 15 to 5 and from 25 to 10, the memory usage seems to go down a bit but its still above 1gigs. also found out that the clamd deamon is taking up to 6.8% of my memory is this normally? Memory on my Debian always running low

Hi List I have install the Exim4u on a Debian, right now its acting as my backup mail server. everything seems to be working fine but my server is always running low on memory sometimes upto 90% of my memory is consume i have a 2gig memory.
