Facebook Opens Internet.org to All Developers [Net Neutrality]
Listers, Facebook is turning internet.org into an open platform to all devs. Three principles however have to be upheld: 1. Services should encourage the exploration of the broader internet wherever possible 2. Websites that require high-bandwidth will not be included. Services should not use VoIP, video, file transfer, high resolution photos, or high volume of photos. 3. Websites must be built to be optimized for browsing on both feature and smartphones and in limited bandwidth scenarios. Moses The whole Internet.org <http://internet.org/> saga is causing a lot of emotions regarding its perceived violation of Net Neutrality ethos. One of my major concerns is how will this initiative affect our start up scene? We need to really analyse the pros and cons of this initiative for us to fully appreciate the implications. Ali Hussein
