Seen communication that Kenic had revised pricing for domains upwards. Has the registry abandoned the campaign to make the .ke pricing competitive?

I'm not surprised by this turn of events. A little bird told me that the reason behind this change of strategy is simply that Registrars haven't met jointly agreed set targets and hence putting KeNIC in an untenable situation. KeNIC is a critical public resource and it's incumbent on the industry to support its growth. I've always been against growth by price reduction. Especially in the ccTLD Domain Name Space. The largest ccTLDs include .uk, .co and .de and it's never been about pricing. Back to the drawing board KeNIC and Drake? Dear Listers, What is DRAKE's take on this? haven't seen any comment from them on this issue. Being a Registrars Association in Kenya was expecting maybe an explanation on how this was arrived at. To KeNIC what has led to the frastic change in pricing and why change only Renewal. On Apr 28, 2017 09:58, "Brian Nyali via kictanet" < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:
