Why trust in Data Handling Plays an Important Role in Country Development
[image: image.png] Dear Listers, Grace Githaiga, convenor of the Kenyan think tank KICTANet took part in our partner's GIZ security exercise in 2021. The exercise was conducted in Kenya, South Africa, Armenia, and Jordan and more than 80 people from government, the private sector, and civil society took part. Grace emphasized that ‘Data privacy is critical to provide citizens with the freedom to share data that they wish to share. They need to be confident that they are not being surveilled online or in other forms. In addition, citizens need to be sure that their data held by important authorities is not being misused or being sold for marketing purposes.’ You can read the rest "Cyber security: on a mission to establish trust" https://www.giz.de/en/mediacenter/108410.html *Kind Regards,* *David Indeje *_____________________________________ +254 (0) 711 385 945 | +254 (0) 734 024 856 <https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-indeje/>
