Why the Digital ID project is important

Dear Listers, To avoid being tried (in future) for treason (selling/entrusting Kenyan bio-metric data to foreigners) our public officials need to ensure the Digital ID project is localized (managed/operated) by Kenyans (excluding dual citizens). Walu has described why the Digital ID project is important https://www.nation.co.ke/oped/blogs/dot9/walubengo/Digital-ID-project-raises... "Globally, this problem is known as an Identity Management problem and in Kenya, it has reached an acute stage and requires an urgent but carefully thought through approach to resolve.."

Hi Listers, Related question: Does anyone know the status/progress on the PKI initiative started in 2013 ? (see https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/economy/Digital-IDs-on-the-way-in-hunt-f... ) Kind regards Michael Pedersen On 17/08/2018 10:30, S.M. Muraya via kictanet wrote:

Michael, It is wise to focus on Walu's article which addresses land grabbing, social security, ownership of (money laundering) companies, etc. It provides a wider perspective (localized understanding) as to why Identity Management is important in Kenya.
