Kenya film board bans 'immoral' ads from running between 5am and 10pm
The Kenya Film Classification Board has banned advertisements and commercials that feature sexual innuendos and sexually suggestive scenes, alcoholic drinks, betting and gambling from running during the watershed period between 5:00am and 10pm. http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Film-board-bans-immoral-ads/-/1056/3165970/-/yv...
A music video is also an ad. Will the Kfcb also ban music videos that feature sexual innuendos, sexually suggestive scenes and alcohol drinks? They should, otherwise this can be considered a double standard. On Tuesday, April 19, 2016, Grace Githaiga via kictanet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

The intention may be good but with the nature of todays technology the execution is likely to be a King Canute exercise (King Canute ordered the tide not to come in to demonstrate his powers). E.g. Many people watch satellite or Internet tv. What happens? This is a catch 22 situation in which something has to be done but may not be effective. I even question the intention. If it is REALLY to preserve national values and morals, why is the ban only between 5am and 10pm? What of the children who will stay up late because they have no parental supervision? What of the ADULTS?
