Re: [kictanet] DIGITAL MIGRATION - SEASON 2 (Now KBC directed to hand over Signet)
It would be interesting to get a response from the relevant authorities. And the more I think about it, the more I think that maybe the big three had a case in kicking their tantrum. --- Original Message --- From: "Ali Hussein" <ali@hussein.me.ke> Sent: 12 March 2015 13:02 To: "GG" <ggithaiga@hotmail.com> Subject: Re: [kictanet] DIGITAL MIGRATION - SEASON 2 (Now KBC directed to hand over Signet) Yup... *Ali Hussein* Tel: +254 770 906375/ 713 601113 Twitter: @AliHKassim Skype: abu-jomo LinkedIn: http://ke.linkedin.com/in/alihkassim <http://ke.linkedin.com/in/alihkassim> Blog: www.alyhussein.com Any information of a personal nature expressed in this email are purely mine and do not necessarily reflect the official positions of the organizations that I work with. @Ali, interesting.
At what point will Signet revert to the public? Will the public be allowed to buy shares into it? Is there a model in place or are there private individuals/companies already waiting on the sidelines and who will be prioritised to be 'true owners?'
This reeks of corruption!

I found this article in the Nation quite curious. I hope somebody has gotten their story mixed up.

The other issue is how we as Kenyans hand over digital signals to a Foreign Company without ANY local shareholding. What are we smoking?

Safaricom was "owned" by Telkom Kenya but Treasury cashed in on it's sale. This has been GoK Modus Operandi for ages, so I'm wondering why KBC is shocked here. Plus doesn't KBC owe money to Treasury and needs constant bailing out? On Thu, 12 Mar 2015 17:20 GG via kictanet <kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:
