.africa put on ice after ICANN confusion
Ali, What is a private company to you? Do you know what the corporate entity of ZACR is? or are you simply like you say disparaging to DCA? In terms of what "stands out" for you, maybe you can enlighten yourself directly on what happened on .dotafrica from alternate sources such as this http://domainnewsafrica.com/the-curious-case-of-dotafrica-2 , other than the arch enemies of DCA, like DomainIncite 's bloggers Murphy. One line stands out -
'....Yeah, it?s embarrassing for ICANN. Doubly so because it?s been beaten by a company so incompetent it accidentally applied for the wrong gTLD.'
Not sure what happened here and not to seem disparaging to the appellant, I think this will eventually go through. Its unlikely that a Geographical gTLD will go to private company where the AUC backs the current winner.
My two cents.

:) Gideon, I was wondering how long it will take you to respond :) Please enlighten us to the Corporate Structure of DCA - who are behind it, on whose behalf did they apply for a Geographic gTLD etc. I'm sure all this information is around somewhere but so that we remind ourselves of the merits and demerits of both applications.
