So if Kenya will host the IGF next year, the first choice would be Nairobi. Since it is a somewhat UN conference, they may want to hold it at the UN here, which would be a nightmare in terms of logistics. Am curious if there are any facilities at the Coast that would be suitable...like 2 or 3 big hotels in close proximity to each other, all with conference facilities??? Instead of suits and ties, we would see more casual dress codes (like at most other Internet Goverannce meetings). Feedback? -- Cheers, McTim "A name indicates what we seek. Good ideas McTim - but appears the only facility in Kenya that can hold a large conference is KICC! Waudo On Tue, 14 Sep 2010 17:59 +0300, "McTim" <dogwallah@gmail.com> wrote:

McTim, Mombasa sounds lovely. I recall IGF2009 was in Egypt at their coastal town of Sham el Sheikh, and it really rocked...set a standard that only Kenya can match. Unfortunately, I dont think UN would agree to move this thing out of Nairobi due to the usual security paranoia... walu. --- On Tue, 9/14/10, McTim <dogwallah@gmail.com> wrote: From: McTim <dogwallah@gmail.com> Subject: [kictanet] IGF in Kenya in 2011 To: jwalu@yahoo.com Cc: "KICTAnet ICT Policy Discussions" <kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> Date: Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 6:59 PM So if Kenya will host the IGF next year, the first choice would be Nairobi.
