Re: [kictanet] Kenya ranked high globally in eGovernment
I always ask myself when I read these headlines, government offices may be connected e-wise, but are the people connected? Are our own government officials switched on to offer e-government or are they still doing things analogue. What of citizens? Are they on e-gov? Additional lessons can be learnt from Estonia. Read: Lessons from the World's Most Tech-Savvy Government - http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/01/lessons-from-the-wo... Then check out the Estonia E-government portal, and more so the services section - https://www.eesti.ee/eng/start Our people from E-government should get in touch and learn / adopt a similar system. I hope the government continues engaging stakeholders as has been the case in the last ten years, this will help in greater adoption of this electronic services. I was sad last week when i could not get a critical government service because the relevant government website had been hacked. This are issues that can be addressed collaboratively. We are what we are because a couple of years ago we embraced the multi-stakeholder model and worked together and this is the same spirit we should maintain. Interesting article. Although a lot still needs to be done we must take stock and see how greater engagement between the private and public sector can grow this important aspect of public-private partnerships.
