Dear Partner, RE: Invitation to the Dissemination Meeting on ‘Public Participation: An Assessment of Recent ICT Policy Making Processes in Kenya.’ The Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) would like to invite you to a virtual meeting on ‘Public Participation: An Assessment of Recent ICT Policy Making Processes in Kenya.’ The meeting will take place on *Wednesday 11 August, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM* via Zoom <https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEufuigqjotGtJ9QXcLr_8Cmq8G9LzMQk2z> . The main objective of the meeting is to provide a platform to create awareness on KICTANet's latest policy brief on Public Participation in the ICT Sector. The brief assesses the extent to which the public participated in three recent ICT policy and law-making processes namely the National Information Communications and Technology (ICT) Policy, 2019, the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018, and the Data Protection Act, 2019. This meeting is expected to provide a platform for discussion, information sharing and strategic thinking on implementing public participation in the ICT sector. KICTANet welcomes applications for fellows for the 6th Edition of the Kenya School of Internet Governance (KeSIG). KeSIG takes place prior to the Kenya IGF, with the aim of introducing beginners in internet governance to basic concepts in internet policy making. This is with the goal of creating and increasing the available expertise for participation in local and global internet governance processes.
