James,
So, with all the IT resource base have, you mean to say that we are unable to have some sort of a scorecard/storyboard to monitor V2030 implementation? - to make it possible to easily generate such a status report/summary? If govt is unable, public sector can donate skills for it, and govt can host the app somewhere where line ministries for the 5 pillars can input the progress
Edwin

Perhaps you need to familiarize yourself with Vision 2030 first. You cannot get a one page status implementation document for the simple reason,
This is a nice summary report, however, I would prefer a detailed dashboard view of the progress - sort of like you would do within a project management app! It is more meaningful to a consumer such as myself instead of a simplified statements as ● The Konza Technology City master plan has been developed and approved. ● The Technocity is planned on a 5,000 acre land and fencing is complete. ● The Ground breaking ceremony for the Konza Technology City was presided on by His Excellency the President Hon. Mwai Kibaki on the 23nd January 2013. ● Nine boreholes have been earmarked for drilling out of which four boreholes drilled and supplying water to the city. ● A multipurpose dam has been designed for supply of water to the city and the neighboring communities. ● A 10 km buffer zone has been created around the city. ● The legal notice on the establishment of the Konza Technolopolis Development Authority (KOTDA) has already been gazetted and the board appointed. I would like to view all the projects that were/have been earmarked for the ITES/BPO sector as an example, what were the milestones, implementation delays, challenges (like you have on page 23/24 of the report); budgets assigned; funds utilization, assigned contractors, etc. The above summary is for media and general public consumption - hence why we need a more robust repository to monitor the detailed progress of V2030 implementation; or if it already exists, access to it (this is still constitutional, right?). James,
Thanks for sharing this information - quite enlightening. To clarify, I
did not ask for a ONE-PAGE document instead asked for a single document that would state holistic progress at a point in time within the 5 year mid-term plan.
Isn't it called "Vision 2013 DELIVERY secretariat"...I thought the
"DELIVERY' bit connotes some level of coordination among the various implementers such that the secretariat would have periodic reports showing what progress is being made overall.
If today, the President asked for such a report, would you tell him to
write it himself!!

Thanks for the clarification.
Again, I'm sure if such a report is done, it is for a period ending sometime in the past, say end of June, 2013. For the simple reason, you have to wait for Ministries to report on the progress of their projects which
the Planning Ministry to maintain National Monitoring Indicators showing progress made in meeting goals. probably takes place at the end of the financial year. If you want such a report now, you would have to check with the ministries individually. As you well know, Monitoring and Evaluation is done on a periodic basis, mid-term, end-term etc. But take it up with MED, Monitoring and Evaluation Division at Herufi House. I'm only giving you my insights from the time I used to cover Business and Financial news and followed Treasury, Planning and Vision 2030 quite a bit.
