I hope you are very well.

As you know, I am not yet a Kenyan citizen. I have tried through several NGOs since July to get some observer status or affiliation. Is there any way that you can get me approval to be near a polling station?

I am flying in to Kenya for the election and would love to get a closer look. I am mainly interested in the technology related questions.

I am specifically interested in the use of telecommunications and IT in the voting and vote counting process. I am also interested in the use of SMS to send in votes, and to send around "hate speech" or invalid rumours. I will be interested to see if the government shuts down the TV or twitter for part of the election due to safety considerations and the justification for that,

Is there any way you can assist me to get official research clearance for my work so I can get fairly close to the polls?

Please advise.
