Listers Apple published its latest report on government requests for data in its ecosystem. From actual hardware requests to its iTunes and App Store ecosystem. What are the implications in Kenya with our new data protection law? https://9to5mac.com/2020/01/18/apple-first-half-2019-transparency-report/ Ali Hussein +254 0713 601113 Twitter: @AliHKassim Skype: abu-jomo LinkedIn: http://ke.linkedin.com/in/alihkassim "We are what we repeatedly do. @Ali Hussein <ali@hussein.me.ke> Big Tech always has the way. We have seen cases of big tech being fined billions of dollars which never dents their balance sheet. I bet our fines will be pocket change for them considering the GDPR equivalent. My only concern will be how do we protect, promote or nurture local investors against being pushed out of business by big tech? Barrack Charity begins at home. Sometime back I challenged TESPOK to be transparent and report to the public on such matters. As you can imagine...The silence continues to date.. How do we expect foreign companies to do such stuff if locals don't see the need for it?
