Webinar Invite: Global Censorship Trends: Insights from Network Measurement, Circumvention, and Advocacy

Dear Listers, Internet censorship is an (in)visible threat that is increasingly becoming more pervasive worldwide -- often impacting vulnerable communities the most. Today, nearly every country including Kenya, has experienced some form of internet censorship. What varies is the content being restricted and the consequences of that restriction. In many cases, governments block access to a broad range of websites and applications; in more extreme scenarios, they shut down internet access entirely. These practices are spreading globally, posing significant threats to human rights and undermining fundamental democratic freedoms. As political dynamics shift, so too does the landscape of internet censorship worldwide. On *Tuesday, 13 May, from 1800 - 1900 EAT*, the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University will host this webinar on *Global Censorship Trends: Insights from Network Measurement, Circumvention, and Advocacy.* KICTANet is a member of the #KeepItOn coalition and invites listers to join the session to learn about global internet censorship trends revealed through a decade of OONI network measurement data, how the global #KeepItOn advocacy campaign fights internet shutdowns, and how Tor Project tools support censorship circumvention efforts. *RSVP here: * https://cyber.harvard.edu/events/global-censorship-trends-insights-network-m... <https://cyber.harvard.edu/events/global-censorship-trends-insights-network-measurement-circumvention-and-advocacy> [image: image.png] Regards, *Victor Kapiyo* Partner | *Lawmark Partners LLP* *Nine Planet Apartments, Nairobi | **Web: www.lawmark.co.ke <http://www.lawmark.co.ke/> * ==================================================== *“Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude” Zig Ziglar*
