Good Afternoon KICTANET Moderator. This forum has been very benefital to use when it comes to matters and issues of ICT. However, during the last few weeks its lost value as most of the comments that are flooding our inboxes are witch haunts by a selected few individuals. I urge you to filter this from your mailboxs. I see majority of subscribers asking removal from your mailing list. Am sure you have seen what has happened and I hope you are doing something about it. Thanks Stephen Mwangi
Bw Mwangi There is no majority asking 4 removal. People who fear the truth will run. Many believe in the truth and you know the group who feel threatened. They are the dishonest group Alai On 12/6/08, smwngi@gmail.com <smwngi@gmail.com> wrote:

I agree with you Mwangi, Its very obvious that this forum has been taken over. Moderator hope there is something you can do, otherwise those of us who "fear the truth" will definitely be on the run. Sam Gichuru Ideas Africa Limited On 12/6/08, Robert Alai <alai.robert@gmail.com> wrote:

Dear all, I must agree with S. Mwangi. Last few weeks we have indeed experienced more brawn than brain exchanges despite repeated appeals for diplomacy. Furthermore, many have called me offline and emailed me privately on the need for action intended to reduce e-verbal abuse while increasing fruitful exchanges. In the interest of the wider membership we shall have to put on "moderation-status"* the next member whose posting contains abusive/offensive language. I trust that most will not need a lawyer to judge what is abusive/offensive but the general rule is that what is abusive offline (face-2-face) is likely to be considered abusive online in most cultures. walu. *Moderation Status:-means your posting will be physically censured before being uploaded/rejected. --- On Sat, 12/6/08, smwngi@gmail.com <smwngi@gmail.com> wrote:

Alai,
Does unearthing the people who are trying to kill the fight against ocrruption and muzzle the Kenyan press also amount to Abuse?<<
Unfortunately I dont have a straight answer to the above. BUT the key guidelines are that: 1. the topics introduced should revolve around ICT Policy/Activities & 2. observe some diplomacy - particularly when addressing the 'imagined-guilty" party given that there are always two or more sides of a story. So If someone was to talk about corruption in say the Maize-industry members would rule them out of order unless ofcourse one is explaining how computers were used in the process :-). But more seriously, most members are worried about the lack of diplomacy on the list. There's a way we can disagree on issues without necessary degenerating to our lowest instincts. And this is where the Americans and other democracies have beaten us. Because they are able to present their opposing views without necessary boiling down to personality wars. Stay civil - today's enemy maybe your tomorrow's friend and vice-versa. walu. --- On Mon, 12/8/08, Robert Alai <alai.robert@gmail.com> wrote:

( either divisions or District levels) Don't we have have brains there or we care less? - Whats your thoights here? c) we have been more theoretical than practical, neither realistic may be we need to change. d) I suggest we change the objective of the forums so that it would include all kenyans. Loa This is one of the thought provoking post I think I have seen in this list. It deviates from the usual mumbo jumbos of IPv4 and IPV6 dreams and change-overs. It strikes the chord of local and grassroots involvement in ICT formulation in the country. It stirs me into thinking beyond the enslaves of KICC amphitheater and think more of the silent but ever busy farmer in Laikipia sending MPESA and being conned of none existent prize promises through sms. The funny thing is that we have never asked for their opinion and I bet The Wrath of the sages to come down upon me, the ICT bill 2008 didnt give theem a chance to participate. Loa, I hear you. I really hear you loud and clear /Alai On Tue, Dec 9, 2008 at 9:55 AM, Lobore Junior <jlobore@yahoo.com> wrote:
