Feedback on New Look CA Website
Dear Listers, The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) regularly redesigns its website to make it responsive to the needs of consumers and emerging market trends. In this regard, the Authority has redesigned its website and in the process of finalising content upload and tying up the loose ends. We wish to get your comments on the new direction to enable us improve the site as we finalise. You can access the new website on this link:https://squad.wpp-scangroup.com/2017/ca/ Kindly send your thoughts to the email address: sali@ca.go.ke<mailto:saidi@ca.go.ke> with a copy to gimode@ca.go.ke<mailto:gimode@ca.go.ke> and mugalo@ca.go.ke<mailto:mugalo@ca.go.ke>. We would appreciate if we could get your feedback by 12 noon on Thursday, 18th May 2018. Best Regards, Chiimbiru Gimode, CMRP, MPRSK. Thanks @Chiimbiru. Is there any particular reason (legally or otherwise) why most forms (returns, application, etc) have to be downloaded, printed and submitted? I could think of a thousand million ways that is counter intuitive in an era where , like e-citizen, everything can be filled online and just pdf/ printed & automatically submitted. Thanks Chiimbiru, Perhaps CA can consider a better online format for receiving comments and feedback of the consultations. Also, a simple online complaints platform for consumers would be useful. Lastly, the sector statistics that CA releases could be on a page where they can be analysed and compared against each other e.g. on the opendata portal. I dunno whether the same are shared on the portal. Victor On Tue, 15 May 2018, 13:03 Collins Areba via kictanet, < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

Nice work done, the GUI looks great, however I advise you to carry out more tests. I carried out some tests to check the accessibility/usability and it didn't pass... For instance:you need to optimize some of your images further and ensure that form elements have labels etc. Regards Ronald On Tue, May 15, 2018, 18:33 Ali Hussein via kictanet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

Hi Gimode, CA has been a beacon of public participation. Can we have a section where the public can comment on documents directly on the website as opposed to having to download them. This will help in creating a record of the comments received and the Public can be able to note which comments were taken into consideration. I think this would boost public participation. I would also echo the sentiments made by June to ensure that the website is also available in Swahili. Otherwise i concur with the sentiments expressed by other listers. Nice work done, the GUI looks great, however I advise you to carry out more tests. I carried out some tests to check the accessibility/usability and it didn't pass... For instance:you need to optimize some of your images further and ensure that form elements have labels etc. Regards Ronald

Thanks Chiimbiru,
Perhaps CA can consider a better online format for receiving comments and feedback of the consultations.
Also, a simple online complaints platform for consumers would be useful.
Lastly, the sector statistics that CA releases could be on a page where they can be analysed and compared against each other e.g. on the opendata portal. I dunno whether the same are shared on the portal.
