Re: [kictanet] kictanet Digest, Vol 105, Issue 59
I have got a feeling that it looks like CIPESA members are either busy lining up at voting centers or worse still unable to view and/or respond to their mail at this time. However, access to FB seems to have been restored now in Kampala, though it is said to be slow. Only one telecom (VODAFON) is said not to have been having trouble serving social media pages though it was reportedly very slow too.... 3hrs ago Journalist Rosebell Kagumire wrote on FB: Rosebell Idaltu Kagumire <https://www.facebook.com/rosebell.kagumire?fref=nf> 3 hrs <https://www.facebook.com/rosebell.kagumire/posts/10153974685408824> · Kampala, Uganda <https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kampala-Uganda/114935148521194> · Dear Ugandans, it is clear the internet has been tampered with. You're welcome Henry,
My advice - follow Grace's advice. You can use an advocate or even submit the documents yourself, but do it offline.

Hi Henry,
To register a business name using eCitizen, you have to go through two processes.
1. Reserve the name (costs Sh.150). If successfully reserved you will get the status showing Reserved and if not, it will tell you that it has been Rejected. 2. Using the code for the name reservation, register the business name (costs about Sh.850). You will need to provide supporting documentation to complete this stage.
A word of caution. Do not try to use eCitizen to register a company. It's been five weeks since I made that mistake and after being thrown about from office to office, I fear I will have to do the whole process again offline and pay again.

Hello all,
Just need some clarification from anyody who has used eCitizen.go.ke recently or in the past to register a business name. The portal only has FAQs for EVISA and not EBUSINESS (s.
My current dilemma is after applying for a business name search the application status is showing 'Reserved' but it is not clear what 'Reserved' means. Does it mean that the name has already been registered or it has been reserved so that I can register it. (Maybe they relook using the word reserved and replace it with AVAILABLE or NOT AVAILABLE)
Anybody on this forum who can assist with my dilemma?

Just heard the televised report where the rationale for the shutdown is "to maintain security and prevent spread of lies". Friends are reporting using VPNs but Internet is super slow. And of course, many Ugandans and residents are crossing over in droves to Kenya. Like you David, I hope all goes well. Peace.
