Hi Harry - I think this thing is just a compromise because for the Chinese person how do they type ".com" using Latin script when (a) they do not know Latin script and (b) Latin script is missing from their Chinese keyboard. They were having problems having to learn Latin scripts just for the priviledge of using the Internet.
