David, I had never checked which party I'm 'registered' under until now. I've always wondered what the flip side could be. Seeing as I have apparently been registered since July 2017 😂😂 if I wanted to run on that party, I could claim that as my membership right? As long as they don't ask me to pay for membership since 2017, then perhaps I could resign from this list to run for a position 😄. (It's wrong use of my information by eCitizen nevertheless even as I make light of it) On Thu, 10 Feb 2022 at 12:37, David Indeje via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

Dear KM, Yes, by virtue of you being a registered member to your party, you have a green light to submit your nomination papers. However, you would still need to abide by the party's rules before seeking that position.
Kathy I also did not know that I belonged to some party since May 5, 2020. I have never bothered to check. But this is wrong! On Thu, Feb 10, 2022 at 1:16 PM Kathy Mwai via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

There's one challenge with "resigning" from a party one never joined or registered to in the first place via ecitizen. The ORPP data base only captures that you were a member who has now resigned, not that your were fraudulently presented as a party member by the party. Dear Listers.,
With the 2022 Kenyan elections on the horizon, the electoral body has concluded the voter registration exercise and is currently set to audit the voter register.
On the other hand, do you know which party you have been registered under? Kindly do check out yourself, here <https://orpp.ecitizen.go.ke/services/1/apply/1>.
Are you mad you have been registered under the Azimio, UDA, TIP TIP, Jubilee or any other party and you would love to purge yourself from it? Worry not, you can self purge from that party here <https://orpp.ecitizen.go.ke/services/2/apply/2>. You will have a 7 days grace period for the request to be approved.
On a lighter note, who is resigning from the Listers Group to seek an electoral position?

Interesting. I have two searches on record on eCitizen, one in June 2021 that shows I was not registered to any party, and another that I did this morning showing that I was registered in May 2021 as a member of UDA. Either time travel is real or there are no real checks and balances on the system... Before I launch into a diatribe about bottom-up economics, I think this page should have a 'Report fraudulent registration' button, otherwise there's no visible means for me as a user to communicate to the Registrar of Political Parties. Or I could just launch a campaign on a UDA ticket. This may actually be easier. On Thu, 10 Feb 2022 at 17:29, Mwendwa Kivuva via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

😹😹😹😹 you've made my morning Eric. Seriously though, this demonstrates the level of impunity in this country... The fact that we have fraudulent political parties working with a fraudulent ORPP to seek political power to run the affairs of the people of Kenya, fraudulently and corruptly. And that there's probably nothing that we can do about it. Tutado? Much as votes are meant to be private, this information should not be in eCitizen. If entirely correct it is easily subject to misuse - for example one could imagine vetting job applicants based on party membership. A separate information system with strict data controls should be used for this, if it is at all needed. Ideally, political parties would keep lists of their own members for purposes of verifying candidates and their own internal processes. It is good that there is interest in correcting and verifying information. On 2/11/22 6:37 AM, Eric Mugendi via KICTANet wrote:

@David Indeje <mailto:davidindeje@gmail.com> yes you're right I bet they'd take me through a litany of rules if I was to vie through this party. Let me inform my friends they could leave the various parties they've been inducted into as you indicated - without their knowledge!! Thanks for the heads up

Kathy I also did not know that I belonged to some party since May 5, 2020. I have never bothered to check. But this is wrong!

(It's wrong use of my information by eCitizen nevertheless even as I make light of it)

This issue may cause alot of contention once our Data Protection Act gets more "bite force". Last year disvovered unbeknownst to me I had been a registered member of ANC for several years. I resigned immediately which took a while to be effected. But much to my chargin was immediately registered as a UDA member for a period longer than I had been a ANC member. Once again immediately resigned and currently I am party less and waiting to see who "steals" my personal data next 🤷🏽♀️ On Thu, 10 Feb 2022, 12:37 pm David Indeje via KICTANet, < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:
