@Adam, government collecting everyone's data afresh as is happening with passports, marriage certificates, birth certificates drivers licences etc should surely be done within a framework. Also, the public should be informed of the whys and a justification given for all the fees being collected with the fresh (mandatory) registrations. The mentioned service provider has been flagged off as a "con alert" both on the NTSA twitter handle and the Kenya police facebook page. https://twitter.com/ntsa_kenya?lang=en https://www.facebook.com/KenyaPoliceService/posts/1221720851297054 Kind Regards, *'Chance Favors the prepared mind'* - Louis Pasteur On Tue, May 29, 2018 at 2:19 PM, Grace Bomu via kictanet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:
@Adam, government collecting everyone's data afresh as is happening with passports, marriage certificates, birth certificates drivers licences etc should surely be done within a framework. Also, the public should be informed of the whys and a justification given for all the fees being collected with the fresh (mandatory) registrations.

At this rate, the big four agendas will be another story, someone should wake me up when they are achieved now that visin 2030 is doubtfull. Unfortunately our Senior Government officials some that are on this list choose to ignore the things that matter and prefer fora where people sing praises instead of confronting real issues such as these.

Do they all need to be verified on the same day? Why not take there applications online and then give them dates to show up before expiry of there visas?

In the same vein have you noticed the long lines winding around Nyayo House in pursuit of passports and other services from immigration? I don't think those lines were as long during the "analogue" days some years ago... Must be disastrous for those in the lines during the rainy weather

What kills me about this is the 'Visit the nearest NTSA office'.
Why are we as a country investing millions of dollars in ICT Platforms to help in G2C interaction and then ask us to go back to the Nyayo House era of lining up for driving licenses? What am I missing here?

Listers,
I was just checking on twitter the requirements for the new generation driving license by NTSA and i must admit that it is a big joke and a scam.
For starters, the requirement that one deposits KES 3150 is a big joke knowing that this is almost half the salary of workers upcountry (forget those driving around in government or company owned guzzlers who pay for everything from office petty cash) In any case, an ATM card with similar features as the new driving license is free in local banks, can NTSA clarify what the public is paying for? With digitization, why does it take two weeks to obtain this new driving license?, arent this avenues for promoting corruption?
