What was so derogatory about what Bobby said? If there was anything, then I believe it wasn't intentional. Prepending "phobia" to names in Kenya has never been derogatory though. It's sort of a culture that has taken roots in Kenya when there are political inclinations associated with an individual. Now, that, to me, is not derogatory.

I know the last 3weeks have taken toll and might continue to take toll on our ICT community. We are human and therefore cannot pretend that it is 'business as usual'. However, as a community, we should continue to discuss and share ideas from an ICT perspective. In normal circumstances, I would have thought Yawe's post was focusing on 'information censorship' and would have encouraged its discussion. However, it is best to rest it given the circumstances in order to avoid dragging the list membership into non-ICT issues. Yes, it may not be business as usual, but it does not mean it is time to unleash 'e-daggers' at each other. We can instead seek to find what is common between us in order to celebrate or foster it. As professionals, we just might be obliged to provide the stabilizing factor between the explosive combination of politicians (on both divides) and the un-employed. And on that note, I want to announce that next week we shall hold a 1-week discussion to share experiences on the impact the current political impasse has had on our ICT businesses/Consultancies. I think the material collected would be a positive contribution in terms of taking stock of the impact of the current actions and counteractions between the contenders. walu. NB: some quote: 'If God gives you a (bitter)lemon dont complain, instead make lemonade' - I dont know who said that. But I thought we should be looking for methods to make the best out of the situation. --- Steve Kahara <[email protected]> wrote:
