The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) is organizing a School on "New Perspectives in Wireless Networking Applications", to be followed by "Relevance of Low Cost Wireless ICT Solutions for Development: an Awareness Workshop" from 11 February to 5 March 2008. The venue will be ICTP in Trieste, Italy.

PURPOSE AND NATURE The School is addressed to a limited number of candidates coming from academic and research institutions of Developing Countries and having an adequate working knowledge of IP networking. It will include tutorial lectures and laboratory work, where wireless solutions will be experienced through hands-on-sessions.

The Laboratory work will be dedicated to practical exercises and demonstrations on:

- Basics of wireless networking with Wi-Fi/WiMax technologies - Wireless Sensor Networks - Powering remote sites

AWARENESS WORKSHOP In the Awareness Workshop participants and international experts will discuss the most advanced and cost-effective low cost wireless technology available to help the educational, scientific, social and economic development of Least Developed Countries.

Deadline for requesting participation is 5 November 2007.
