Listers, It seems like some South African companies are having to scale back operations especially in the SADC region in the wake of xenophobic attacks affecting citizens of countries in the region. Multichoice has actually ran two ads in the Nation and Standard condemning the xenophobic attacks and promoting pan-Africanism. Question is, how much responsibility should multinationals take for events taking place in their mother countries. IT linked companies like MTN, UUnet, Internet Solutions, Jumia and so on operate across the continent. What should be their response to likely backlash from events they have no control over?
