We have to study this a while to understand the real meaning of "Affirmation Agreement". The devil is usually in the details; is our S.A colleague ( “The very fact that I, as a citizen of South Africa serve on ICANN’s board, along with representatives from around the world speaks to the international diversity of this very unique organization.”) a voting member of the Board or just a liaison?. What is the national composition of the Board? If anyone is serious Africa should have at least 3 VOTING members on the Board.
