Digital Security Training: KICTANet calls for applications

KICTANet in partnership with Access is pleased to announce an open call for women journalists and women bloggers to participate in digital security training. We are particularly interested in women journalists and bloggers who focus on political reporting. We will nevertheless observe the constitutional requirement of the one third gender rule and will therefore consider a few applications from men bloggers and journalists. This training is informed by incidents of online harassment of women journalists and bloggers, and coming at a time when the Kenyan social media environment is polarized because of the approaching elections. The Training The training will increase participants’ knowledge in such areas as: · Identification and evaluation of risks · Response to digital security incidents · Legal and ethical environments along online expression. For more information, please see the flyer attached. To apply, please SEND YOUR EMAIL TO info@kictanet.or.ke. The deadline to submit expressions of interest is June 13, 2016. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with Liz Orembo (lizorembo@gmail.com) who is coordinating this Project. Kind RegardsGG
