Eric, If you want a Windows Desktop or Server UI, you will be best off with a .Net developer -- even better if they can create Flash like user interfaces (experiences) that work within and without the browser using a Microsoft technology called Silverlight. http://www.teslaforecast.com/Products.aspx#platform http://algoness.blogspot.com/2010/11/kohonen-self-organizing-maps-for.html If you just want a simple browser (web based) user interface, any developer with good PHP, Javascript & CSS) skills will sort you out especially if you do not require it to work on Windows servers or as a Windows application. HTML 5 will also give you simple but good enough "Flash" like user experiences. You are likely to be encouraged to run it some "secure" Linux system. Hope this helps a little .. Eric, am doing some work around building models that simulate the dynamics between interacting variables and found that there's rich info @ http://www.systemdynamics.org/what_is_system_dynamics.html Complete with recommended simulation packages @ http://www.vensim.com/ http://www.iseesystems.com/ http://www.powersim.com/ So whereas I wouldnt want to snatch the programming opportunity from our youngsters, it maybe worthwhile to explore what is already in the market before deciding on whether you want to build from scratch... walu. --- On Fri, 1/7/11, Eric Aligula <jairah@kippra.or.ke> wrote: From: Eric Aligula <jairah@kippra.or.ke> Subject: Re: [kictanet] Programmer To: jwalu@yahoo.com Cc: "KICTAnet ICT Policy Discussions" <kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> Date: Friday, January 7, 2011, 3:59 PM Wesley Thank you for refining my perspective.
