Community Broadcasters
Good morning, I need to connect and correspond with community broadcasters. I recall KochFM had their representatives attend kictanet meetings last year.Does SIDAREC have representatives on the list? All help contacting other community stations is most appreciated. Regards, Alex

In the meantime, I am passing this request along to SIDAREC co-founder and Ghetto FM co-creator, George Onyango, a close friend who I have not yet seen posting to this list (hopefully he will join and post in future :)). Hello Everyone, At the risk of been labeled dumb (which I am), allow me to ask what is a "community broadcaster" and their relevance in KE. I'd never heard about them until this thread. In a nutshell:- they all broadcast on 99.9 FM, to a max radius of about 5 km, get free (or only pay something like Kshs 30,000/= to CCK), are not supposed to earn commercial advertisements revenue.... etc. Perhaps George could chip in?
