Dear listers, am carrying out some research on broadband performance in Kenya. Plse feel free to participate or share widely. The invite and details as posted below: ----Research Project Participant Invite: MeasuringBroadband Performance in Kenya Dear Research Participant, My name is John Walubengo, Lecturer at Multimedia University of Kenya. In conjunction with Research ICT Africa, weare carrying out research to establish the quality of the internet links asprovided for by the Kenyan mobile operators Safaricom, Airtel, Orange andEquitel. The aim of the research is to getempirical data from subscribers that can then be used to inform regulatorypolicy that can improve the quality of upload/download speeds as well as thegeneral customer web surfing experience. You will be expected to run some internetspeed measurements at least (twelve) 12 times per month using a mobile Appcalled “*My Speed Test*” with your smart phone from Jan 30 to April 30 2017. @Ali, Precisely. Nairobi - despite its 4G links - is unfortunately not Kenya. So, if you guys have contacts outside the big cities to run these Quality of Service (QoS) tests, the better. Whereas we shall also collect urban data, it is important that our dataset includes non-urban / rural areas for a better representation. So lets please share with our rural contacts so that we help improve the QoS across the board. walu.
