hi yet there is to much hype about the process, i heard this morning on the radio that hp had quoted the lowest at 24 billion and olive had 26 billion, then they readvertised the tender and olive quoted lowest at 21 billion. in my view, its better if the tender goes to a local company rather than foreign no matter the process On Friday, February 7, 2014 7:51 PM, Grace Githaiga <ggithaiga@hotmail.com> wrote: The tender for the supply of laptops for schools has been awarded to Olive Telecommunication Pvt limited at a price of Sh24.6 billion.Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi on Friday said the bidder quoted the “lowest and most advantageous amount” which saved the taxpayers Sh8 billion. http://www.nation.co.ke/news/Laptop-Tender-Olive-Telecommunication/-/1056/21... _______________________________________________ kictanet mailing list kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke https://lists.kictanet.or.ke/mailman/listinfo/kictanet Unsubscribe or change your options at https://lists.kictanet.or.ke/mailman/options/kictanet/memakunat%40yahoo.com The Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) is a multi-stakeholder platform for people and institutions interested and involved in ICT policy and regulation. I thought the bidding was limited to OEMs not resellers. As far as I can ell from Google, Olive tecnologies do not manufacture computers. On Fri, Feb 14, 2014 at 9:13 AM, Agosta Liko <agostal@gmail.com> wrote:
