GoK seem to have been found sleeping by Anonmouse. The new frontier is the Internet, and what we have been discussing the whole week on this list is security related. Hackers affiliated with the Anonymous hacking collective claim to have compromised a massive 1TB-worth of data from a server of the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. After the information was leaked the Anonymous-affiliated hacktivists told HackRead: "We have 1TB of data but at the moment, we have leaked just one portion of it. The more reason ICT should be handled by competent and trained professionals in our public institutions. The fact no government is immune (wikileaks etc..) means that we really need to be serious about our ICT investments in our own institutions. This is really sad, I know govt has been trying to put in some effort. It seems good is not good enough. Instead of criticizing could we turn this forum using this new revelation to propose solutions? Can we develop a 10-point action plan to present to the government on the way forward to ensure such breaches are minimized? I know it cannot be 100% eliminated, however we can minimize the risk significantly.
