Hi, I have heard of the Coffee Board, Sugar Board and many others and I am quite clear on their objectives and mandate but the ICT Board is an amorphous creature that keeps changing in shape and form every time I interact with it. As was once said about the immediate past president and his private secretary "where does Moi end and Kulei begin" the same needs to be asked on where does GIT/e-gov end and KICT Board begin. They build perimeter walls, recruit consultants, train on general entrepreneurship, procure software, manage projects for ministry, source land & many others. Is this a coordinating body, a policy maker or a "nyapara"? As Walu said their seems to be a conflict of interests which is causing more confusion than clarity, can we please get a clear picture of this animal before it devours us all. Is there any way policy discussants would be able to follow the proceedings from there or in a way participate, as most of the ICT practitioners I see on the roll seem to be multinationals (MNC's)..? The coast is obviously very lovely. But since government, most of the corporates players and, most likely, all the others, too, are in Nairobi, wouldn't it have been environmentally friendlier, and much easier and more accessible to just hold the event in Nairobi?
