Hey Badru, You you have explained has been my biggest criticism of the ICANN process and of course of the ICANN cousins. Local businesses will only engage with a process that they perceive is relevant to their bottom line. The American and some European companies get the ICANN and wider internet issues and they are pretty much embedded in the process looking out for opportunities and also making sure that there interests are taken care of, but not African businesses who have become whole sale consumers of policy yet they have an opportunity to engage and become part of the process and define the future together with the rest of the world. I think the main question would not only be anything to loose but also what are the gains. The worrying thing in all the limited engagement is that at this moment our communities all seem to think that IANA, ICANN etc are way out of their circle of influence. So we are aware of the goings on but they are in our circle of concern. The general assumption seems to be that whatever the outcome there is very short term impact on business as usual.

The challenge is that we have not been able to breakdown the issues to a point of relevancy to the common internet user.

How we break these issues down is still the biggest challenge.
