Fellowships for LDC participants representatives
hi i think it would be important for interested KICTANET members to apply WOMEN CANDIDATES ENCOURAGED A limited number of fellowships will be available to government representatives from developing countries as well as for representatives from civil society. Deadline: 5 August 2005 Event organized from 19 to 29 September 2005. Submission of a nomination form duly completed (see below), signed and endorsed by the official responsible to nominate candidates in the organization must be received no later than: 5 August 2005 Profile of candidate: Government participants: Senior Managers responsible for ICT-related issues at decision-making or policy level. NGO's and civil society entities: Senior members of accredited NGOs and civil society entities with active participation in WSIS. Selection process The WSIS Fellowship Selection Panel will review the nomination forms and make the final choice of candidates to receive fellowships. Criteria for the selection process Nomination forms to be validated by the official responsible to nominate candidates, in the case of NGOs and civil society entities by the head of the organization Candidates professional experience and position and their relevance to the WSIS Preparatory meeting agenda Date of receipt of candidature Candidate from a Least Developed Country (LDC) Candidate from a non-LDC, if funds available Geographical distribution Gender (women candidates encouraged) Participation in WSIS Geneva 2003, WSIS PrepComs and/or other WSIS preparatory events NGOs and civil society entities: preference will be given to Bureau members from developing countries. Only successful candidates will be informed of their selection. Entitlements of selected participants Round-trip air ticket in economy class from country of origin to Geneva by the most direct and economical itinerary. Accommodation selected and pre-paid by ITU for the duration of the meeting No additional daily allowance will be paid for alternative lodging. Daily allowance for meals and incidental expenses.
