Is DCA now “Kenya”? Is the suggestion that GoK is backing DCAs claim? I think Ms Ochieng’ may need to be asked to clarify. Muchiri

Hmmm, Might be someone who is sucking sour grapes over recent .africa developments and wants to try and incite KOT against South Africa and the ZACR team. Pure lack of imagination IMHO... On Tue, Mar 15, 2016 at 4:38 PM, Ali Hussein via kictanet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

I think this is a genuine mistake on the part of the journalist. Remember initially, 5 years ago, there was collaboration of DCA with KENIC. I cannot get enough resources on this, but if you read the resource below, you can add one and one together. http://www.circleid.com/posts/20130314_sammy_buruchara_former_chair_of_dca_a... Mwendwa I think even the suggestion that there was collaboration between KeNIC and DCA is quite erroneous. I remember very clearly that this was tabled at a board meeting and was rejected by the board. In fact KeNIC was even a part of the original discussion in Johannesburg regarding KeNIC collaboration with other ccTLDs and the Africa Union to go for the .Africa domain. I know this Mwendwa because I was a board member at KeNIC then and participated in the Joburg meeting. We need to be careful how we articulate issues and be more responsible in our reporting. Ignorance is not a defense and the said journalist should have sought background information and reached out to experts in the space. There's simply no excuse for making such a blatant mistake. I agree with you Ali. I was actually pointing to those events and actors to show how it is easy to have masses misled on what the true position was. I was avoiding to be specific or mentioning names because this was an issue that was very emotive between several players in our country On Mar 15, 2016 9:12 PM, "Ali Hussein" <ali@hussein.me.ke> wrote:
