She must have exported the "Juja Hackers" to ZW to pull this heist :-) But that story points, IMHO, to either a weak regulatory framework or a lack of monitoring by the CBZ. How can $120m be moving without being flagged? BTW, is that Zimbabwean Dollars or US Dollars? -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254 7 3200 0004/+254 7 2274 3223 "Oh, the cruft.", egrep -v '^$|^.*#' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :-)

It is interesting that the title is Kenyan businesswoman and not Kenyan Woman IT specialist. Clearly, the IT skills are more valuable than the "business" skills required for such an operation.

Did I hear someone saying we lack tech and cybersecurity skills? Ama this is the obvious answer to every policy problem? On Tue, 10 Jan 2023 at 14:41, Benson Muite via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

We definitely might not lack, but I am looking at this from the "White hat" vs "Black hat" perspective, and I believe we have very good black hats :-) -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254 7 3200 0004/+254 7 2274 3223 "Oh, the cruft.", egrep -v '^$|^.*#' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :-)
Actually Liz you would be surprised how Cyber Security skills are very lacking. Even in the most obvious places. Also it's not just an Africa problem. This sort of issue is very global. On Tue, Jan 10, 2023 at 5:19 PM Liz Orembo via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:

Very disturbing. I think that's why most reputable organizations still stick to the good old cheque books. Best Regards, On Tue, Jan 10, 2023 at 5:19 PM Ahmed Mohamed Maawy via KICTANet < kictanet@lists.kictanet.or.ke> wrote:
