Subject: [Internet Policy] Age Appropriate Design code - part of UK Data Protection Act 2018
To: <internetpolicy@elists.isoc.org>

As part of the process to turn the GDPR into UK law last year, an amendment
was passed requiring the ICO (UK Data Protection Authority) to develop an
Age Appropriate Design Code to recognize that children (anyone under 18) are
a vulnerable group who deserve extra protections regarding their personal
data.

The attached booklet, produced by the 5Rights foundation give an easy
explanation of the Code that was developed by the ICO. It also explains how
the Code can be easily implemented without complicated age verification.

Best,
Richard
