1 - Google owns YouTube and I gather most users use YouTube for FREE - so there is that trade off you have to accept.    Same with free to air TV I guess - we can't ask NTV/Citizen/KTN to remove their ads...
2 -  You have the option to close the ad  - just float your cursor over the top right side and you'll see the close.
