Dear madam, My name is Stanley Murage and I am one of those present on the list in an unobtrusive way. This way, we so called lurkers, facilitate open and free discussion without officialdom, exercise of privilege, and duress. KICTAnet, alive this way and with its lurkers, influences national policy more than is known or appreciated. Most lists like this will, necessarily have their key players, but invariably, will have their lurkers nationally and internationally.
I tried to have a list like this in the late nineties (as PS for Transport and Communications) for public responses on Kenya's first Internet Policy, and could only raise a few commentators like Eng Rege (then not a honourable but a wonderful professional), Dr Ochuodo, and a few others. See where we are today. We are interpreting and concluding ad we listen unobtrusively.
KICTAnet should therefore, in my view, soldier on but, of course, with innovation, vision, and relevance to the challenges of the times.
