The policy could encourage the adoption of the standards.
I was informed the countries are actually competing on the number of professionals and organizations certified on the various standards.

Perhaps at a policy level we just need to throw in a clause to point the regulator to enforce these standards as and when applicable. The other challenge ofcourse is that the ISO standards tend to be optional - except those that are health/safety related. So in some cases, a trade-off may need to be acknowledged by the regulator.walu.

@ Alex,
You bring in a very important point Kenya Bureu of Standards
Kenyanizes hundreds of International Standards that are very good yet
are hardly used within the local context. I think Standards play a
critical role in the developement of the sector and ought to be
enforced to say the least?, i wonder what @ Walu or @ Kivuva can say
from a KEBS and ISACA perspective. I would also have liked to hear the
opinion of Waudo Siganga, (CSK), Kamotho Njenga ICT Association of
Kenya and the ISACA Kenya Chapter President Roy or Preston on this
matter.
Finally i have gone through the standard and did not see anything on
Consumer protection, did i miss something?
Regards
