We are pleased to invite you to participate to the 10th meeting of the AFRINIC Government Working Group (AfGWG-10), scheduled to take place on 26 November 2014 in Mauritius during the 21st AFRINIC Public Policy Meeting, AFRINIC-21, happening in Ebène Mauritius, 22 to 28 November 2014.
The working group has been set up by AFRINIC to provide a platform for open and interactive discussions between AFRINIC, African governments, and ICT regulators. Such collaboration between African ICT stakeholders is important in view of the steady growth of the Internet and its impact on the socio-economic development in the region. The rapid growth and development of the Internet in Africa calls for an enhanced collaboration between ICT policy makers on issues of critical interest to the continent.
The following topics will be discussed during the meeting: 1. Overview of the IANA Stewardship Transition process 2. ICANN Accountability Review – An Opportunity for Africa to contribute 3. Status on Internet Number Resource Usage 4. IPv6 for Decision Makers
The agenda is of course open for suggestions and we strongly encourage your input and feedback. All discussions, information sharing, and feedback will take place on this mailing list.

Nous avons le plaisir de vous inviter à participer à la 10e Réunion du groupe de travail gouvernemental d’AFRINIC (AfGWG) qui se tiendra à Ebène, Maurice le 26 novembre 2014 lors de la 21e Réunion sur les politiques publique d’AFRINIC du 22 au 28 novembre 2014.
Le Groupe de Travail a été mis en place par AFRINIC afin d’encourager des discussions entre AFRINIC, les gouvernements africains et les régulateurs des TICs. Cette collaboration entre les parties prenantes des TICs est importante dans le contexte d’une croissance constante de l’Internet et l’impact socioéconomique sur le développement dans la région africaine. La croissance et le développement rapide de l’Internet en Afrique font appel à plus de collaboration entre les décideurs politiques des TICs sur les enjeux majeurs de l’Internet au niveau du continent.
Les sujets suivants seront discutés lors de la Réunion :
1. La transition du rôle de supervision sur les fonctions IANA 2. La révision de la responsabilité et la transparence de l’ICANN – l’opportunité pour l’Afrique de contribuer 3. Le statut de l’usage des ressources de numérotation de l’Internet 4. L’IPv6 pour les décideurs
L’agenda est bien entendu ouvert à toute suggestion et nous vous encourageons à nous envoyer vos commentaires et suggestions.
