Kenya's voyage towards a digital economy is on a trajectory. The dialogue on the next frontier beyond the National ICT Master Plan 2017 must now begin in earnest drawing from lessons learnt in the last four years and industry best practice. We take an audit of our performance and take lessons as we benchmark with our peers and world leaders.
The theme, this year, for Connected Summit 2017 is "shaping the future".
The mobile revolution is unraveling before our eyes with unprecedented growth. The banking sector similarly is expanding with innovative services at every turn relying more and more on telecommunications service providers. We now have mobile network operators offering financial services similar to banks. Is a convergence eminent? any risks and opportunities for businesses to consider. Any new roles for the regulators- do they need to innovate and change themselves. These are indeed some of the questions that the Summit will reflect on and may call for policy and regulatory intervention without compromising innovation and creativity.
This year's Connected Summit 2017 will ultimately offer a platform for citizens, businesses and Government -both county and national on one hand, academics, opinion leaders and IT experts on the other to engage in visioning on the future together.
