Walu and all of us who have stood to be counted. Kudos to all of us. Shadowy forces indeed! If Kamotho has the interest of the industry at heart and not act as 'gatekeeper' to the industry then:- 1. Why did he not engage widely? 2. Who are the members of ICTAK? 3. Who is ICTAK? How representative is it of the industry? 4. Where is his participation in the ICT Policy discussions that have been ongoing? This business of starting to accuse Shadowy figures is a Kenyan pastime. Let Kamotho know that KEPSA, KICTANET, KIPSOS, BAKE are all against This Gatekeeper Bill. Let him start by first withdrawing the bill and then engage all for the betterment of this industry. Of course if he has the interest of the country at heart. No shadowy figures here. We are all known. John Walubengo’s recent blog post targeted ICTAK unfairly and raises critical issues of authenticity and factual worth. The article needs to be understood in the context of the ICT Practitioners Bill 2016, that ICTAK has petitioned Parliament to consider. It is not clear who coined the phrase "Be careful what you wish for; you might just get it". That, however, may be what has just happened. Two years ago, I blogged about the need to have the ICT sector organised under one legally recognised umbrella body. http://www.nation.co.ke/oped/blogs/dot9/walubengo/-/2274560/3290310/-/khfyde...
