Makes the morning a lot healthier and the day brighter with the freeing of hostages and the Military taking control of Westgate pushing back 'the gate of evil' -- they would be overcomed..... Eric here Sent from my iPhone On Sep 23, 2013, at 6:35, Bitange Ndemo <bitange@jambo.co.ke> wrote:
Eric, I am sorry for what has happened to our Ghanaian brothers. News comes in in bits and every bit of it angers and leads to bitterness. I pray that God will help us forgive these senseless killers.
I just came across a quote from Anne Frank which is descriptive and so wise for the moment. She writes: 'It really is a wonder that I have not dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them because in spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up to the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return agaiin.'
She was only 16 when she died, but she had such a beautiful commitment to hope.
This morning a friend wrote to me and she said. There has been such a negativity among good people in discussions that all of this negative energy has to have an effect on people who are really confused and opt for violence. I was heartened to hear the latest comments of the Pope. Every bit helps.
God bless us all.

Among the dead was renowned Ghanaian poet and statesmen Kofi Awoonor. Ghanaian poet Awoonor, 78, who was once his country's representative to the United Nations, was killed while shopping with his son, who was injured in the attack, Ghanaian officials said......very sad but the forces of evil would not prevail.
